Softball Swept by ATU on Saturday

DURANT, Okla. – After sweeping Friday's twinbill over Arkansas Tech, Southeastern found the cold more difficult to overcome on Saturday, dropping both ends of a double-header against the Golden Suns at the Southeastern Softball Field.
 
The Storm dropped the opener on Saturday 20-2 in five innings before closing out the series with an 8-0 loss in the finale.
 
The losses drop SE to 7-11 overall on the season and 5-3 in great American Conference play.
 
Augusta Duty, Kamarie Wallace, Keeshia Thompson, Katie McCullar and Ivy Amador each collected a hit in the opener, while Amador and Felecia Drake each drove in a run.
 
Destiny Riddle took the lass and was tagged for 13 runs, 10 earned, on nine hits with eight walks and two strikeouts over two innings pitched.
 
Kennedy Salyers would toss one inning in relief and allow two runs on three hits before handing the ball to Elexis Watson who tossed the final two innings and allowed five runs on six hits with three strikeouts.
 
ATU scored in all five inning, but put up 10 runs in the third inning and lead 17-0 before the Storm picked up a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth on an Amador RBI single and a Drake RBI on a fielder's choice.
 
The Golden Suns added three more runs in the fifth to take game one 20-2.
 
In the finale, Salyers collected two hits, while Karsyn Brigance and Mykaela Wallace added one each.
 
Emily Cudd would suffer the loss after tossing 3.2 innings and allowing three unearned runs on two hits with five walks and two strikeouts.
 
McCullar was tagged for five runs on three hits in 1.1 innings of relief.
 
ATU put up three in the second and five in the fourth to hand SE an 8-0 loss.
