TYLER, Texas – Southeastern reopened the book on its track and field program at the Marc Randle Classic, picking up its first indiviual event win and posting a combined nine top-10 finishes in the school's first track and field competition in more than 20 years.
 
Martie Shockley paced the Savage Storm in its first official NCAA Division II track and field event, posting a first place finish in the 400M hurdles with a mark of 1:09.98, beating second place by more than four seconds.
 
Shockley added a fifth-place finish in the 400m to lead SE in that event as well, while anchoring a seventh-place finish as part of the 4x100m relay team that included MaKaylah Britton, Danielle Doggett, and A'Mya Powell.
 
Powell was busy as well, posting SE's best marks in both the 100m and 200m, finishing seventh in the latter with a time of 28.42 while turning in a 13.60 in the 100m to finish 12^th.
 
Southeastern posted three top-10 finishers in the 1,500m, led by Skye Summers who posted a time of 5:12.27 to finish fourth, while Rebekah Christman turned in a 5:18.44 to finish sixth, with Megan Rose less than one-tenth of second back with a time of 5:18.52 in seventh.
 
Bailee Bruce posted a seventh-place finish in the high jump, hitting 1.37m, while Sarah Murphy was next in line with a 1.32m mark in eighth-place.

SE will return to action on March 9 at Central Arkansas in Conway, Ark.
