Storm Tripped Up in Series Finale

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Southeastern matched a season-worst for errors and it proved costly as the Savage Storm dropped the series finale at Ouachita Baptist 8-4 on Monday afternoon in Arkadelphia, Ark.
 
The Savage Storm slip to 14-16 overall with the loss and 8-11 in Great American Conference play heading into a home series against Henderson State slated for April 5-6 at The ballpark in Durant.
 
Caleb Dubler turned out three hits, while Chris Eusay and Colton Buckner added two apiece.
 
Davis Jenks turned in a triple and drove in two runs, while Eusay and Slayde Ortiz had one RBI each.
 
Bryce Deatherage got the start and tossed 4.1 innings, allowing five runs on seven hits in taking the loss.
 
Jacob Bigham came on in relief and tossed 2.2 innings and was tagged for three runs, two earned, on five hits.
 
Beau Swimmer faced one batter, allowing a hit, and Jordan Compton retied the final three outs over two batters with one strikeout.
 
OBU connected on solo homers in the first and second inning to open a 2-0 lead.
 
The Storm struck back in the top of the third inning on Jenks triple which scored Buckner and Drew Bolin to knot the game at 2-2.
 
The Tigers would regain the lead on a passed ball in the bottom of the fourth inning and added two more runs in the fifth to take a 5-2 lead.
 
A Eusay single would score Dubler and a batter later Ortiz would plate Luke Thomas to close the gao to 5-4 midway through the sixth inning.
 
OBU would answer with two runs in the sixth and another in the eighth to fashion the final of 8-4.
