SE Welcomes Rival Tigers Before SWOSU Road Swing

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will aim to separate itself from one of the two teams it is tied with atop the Great American Conference standings on Jan. 16 at 7:30 p.m. when it hosts arch-rival East Central in Bloomer Sullivan Arena, followed by a Jan. 18 road trip to Southwestern Oklahoma State in Weatherford, Okla., for a 3 p.m. contest.
 
The Savage Storm come into the weekend with a 12-3 overall record and a 6-2 mark in Great American Conference play and riding a three-game winning streak.
 
SE is tied atop the conference standings with ECU and Henderson State, with Thursday's contest being the second time in three games the team has played a team in first or tied for first.
 
Southeastern is led by Kevin Buckingham who has lifted his average to 22.3 ppg which ranks third in the conference while also picking up his rebounding efforts to 7.0 rpg. He also heads into Thursday's game needing just six rebounds to become the GAC's career leader in rebounding.
 
Adam Dworsky is next in line with 13.5 ppg while also dishing out a national-best 9.4 assists per game. He also leads the GAC in double-doubles with six.
 
Kayo Goncalves is putting up 13.3 ppg and is among the nation's best from long range, hitting 51.0 percent from beyond the arc while also providing a defensive spark with a team-high 8.4 rebounds per game and 14 blocked shots.
 
A'Torey Everett and Kellen Manek round out the double-digit scorers with 11.6 and 11.4 ppg, respectively.
 
The Tigers come into the matchup with a 12-2 record overall on the season and a 6-2 mark in league play.
 
ECU is led by Camron Talley who is putting up 23.9 ppg, while Josh Apple is pulling down a team-leading 8.5 rpg.
 
Tylor Arnold is dishing out a team-best 3.0 assists per contest, while the Tigers are averaging 92.4 ppg.
 
SWOSU comes into the weekend with a 7-7 record on the season and a 3-5 record in conference play.
 
Damion Thornton leads the team in scoring with 19.9 ppg, while Marquis Johnson is dishing out 3.7 assists per game.
 
Thornton is also the team's top rebounder with 7.5 rpg.
