Savage Storm Set to Host UAM, SAU

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern opens the new year in Bloomer Sullivan Arena when it hosts "Blowout Bloomer" night presented by the Durant Area Chamber of Commerce with a Jan. 9 matchup against Arkansas-Monticello at 7:30 p.m. followed on Jan. 11 with a 3 p.m. matchup against Southern Arkansas.
 
The Savage Storm come into the weekend with a 10-3 record overall on the season and are winners of four of their last five contests while putting together a 4-2 record in Great American Conference play.
 
SE is led by five players who average in double-figures, led by Kevin Buckingham who ranks near the top of the league in scoring with 21.6 ppg while shooting 56.9 percent from the field.
 
He is followed by Kayo Goncalves who is putting up 14.2 ppg and is one of the best in the nation from three-point range, hitting 52.2 percent from beyond the arc.
 
Adam Dworsky is next in line with 13.0 ppg while triggering the offense with an NCAA-leading 9.2 assists per game.
 
A'Torey Everett checks in with 12.2 ppg while Kellen Manek rounds out the five with 11.4 per outing.
 
Goncalves leads the team on the boards with 8.0 rebounds per game, while Buckingham is next in line with 6.8 and Manek is hauling in 6.5 per game.
 
Arkansas-Monticello comes to town with a 13-2 record overall and a 5-1 mark in GAC play and has won six in-a-row.
 
KJ Lesure leads a group of five double-digit scorers with 18.9 ppg while also dishing out a team-high 6.7 assists per contest.
 
Denzel McDuffey leads the team on the boards with 8.5 rebounds per game while averaging 10.6 ppg on offense.
 
The Muleriders come into the weekend with a 5-7 overall record with a 2-4 record in GAC play and have dropped three of their last five outings.
 
Devante Brooks leads the team in socring and on the boards with 14.4 ppg and 9.2 rebounds per contest.
 
Aaron Lucas is also averaging double-figures with 13.6 ppg while handing out a team-high 3.8 assists per game.
