SE Returns Home to Host UAM, SAU

DURANT, Okla. – No. 21 Southeastern will look to hang on to the top spot in the conference standings when it hosts Arkansas-Monticello at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 9 for "Blowout Bloomer" night presented by the Durant Area Chamber of Commerce, followed on Jan. 11 with a 1 p.m. matchup against Southern Arkansas.
 
The Savage Storm come into the weekend with an 8-2 record and re-entered the national rankings in the WBCA Coaches Poll at No. 21 after sweeping Arkansas Tech and Harding a week ago to improve to a league-leading 5-1 in Great American Conference play.
 
Katie Webb leads a trio of double-digit scorers pacing SE as she is averaging 18.2 ppg on the year while shooting 51.8 percent from the field. She also leads the way on the glass to the tune of 6.1 rpg.
 
Kamryn Cantwell is the reigning GAC Player of the Week after averaging 25.5 ppg last week, lifting her season average to 17.4 ppg while she is also adding 5.6 rpg and dishes out a team-high 4.0 assists per contest.
 
Briley Moon rounds out the double-digit scoring trio with 12.2 ppg and is also shooting 50.0 percent from the field while hitting 43.1 percent form beyond the arc with a team best 22 threes made on the season.
 
SE is averaging 76.9 ppg on the year while shooting 46.4 percent as a team.
 
Arkansas-Monticello comes to town with a 9-3 record overall and a 4-2 mark in GAC play, but has lost three of its last five outings, two of them to GAC opponents.
 
Berniezha Tidwell leads the Cotton Blossoms across the board with 16.0 ppg while also adding 6.3 rebounds per game and dishing out a team-high 4.2 assists per outing.
 
UAM averages 68.1 ppg offensively while holding opponents to 55.1 ppg.
 
The Muleriders come into the weekend also at 9-3 overall with a 3-3 record in GAC play and are winners of three of their last four outings.
 
SAU does not feature a double digit scorer and are led by Diamond Morris with 9.6 ppg while Kisi Young is next in line with 8.8 per game.
 
Young also hauls in a team-leading 6.2 rpg, while Camryn Fennell is dishing out a team-high 2.2 assists per game.
