DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern closed out its double header with a 2-1 victory over Northwest Missouri State in a pitcher's duel, bouncing back from a 16-3 game-one loss at Mike Metheny Field on Saturday afternoon.

The split moves the Savage Storm to 2-1 on the season with the final game of the series slated for a noon first pitch on Sunday back at Mike Metheny Field.

In the finale the Storm were led by a
Davis Jenks pitching performance as he allowed one run on six hits with six strikeouts over six innings of work to earn the victory.

Kenneth Klier came on for an inning of relief work, striking out one without allowing a hit to earn his first save of the season.
Â
Grant Bruce finished the contest 2-for-2 with an RBI, while three others collected hits and
Hunter Capps drove in a run.

Bruce would single home
Colton Buckner in the second inning to open scoring and the Storm would tack on another run on a Capps sac fly in the third that plated
Richard Ware.

NWMSU would get one run back on a Matt Gastner home run in the sixth, but that was all the scoring they would muster in the 2-1 SE win.

The opener was another story however as Storm starter
Logan Teske was chased after one-third of an inning and was on the hook for seven runs, six earned, on four hits as well as the loss.

Spencer Wallace followed up with 3.2 innings of work while allowing four runs on six hits with two strikeouts.

Kason Grant came in to toss 2.0 innings and allowed two runs on three hits before Capps tossed the final inning and was stung for three runs on two hits.

Six different hitters collected hits, with Capps and
Slayde Ortiz each doubling.

Chris Eusay would collect a pair of RBI while
Jacoby Adkins added one.
Â
The Bearcats put up seven runs in the top of the first inning, but the Storm would have to wait till the bottom of the second to answer as Adkins plated Jenks on a sac fly to make it 7-1.

NWMSU added four more runs in the top of the fourth and the Storm answered with another run in the bottom half on a bases-loaded Eusay walk.

The Bearcats added two more in the sixth with Eusay providing a one-run answer in the bottom half with an RBI sac fly before NWMSU plated three more in the top of the seventh to make the final score 16-3.
