DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern shot 55.2 percent from the field, hit 8-of-12 from three-point range and got a combined 60 points from
Katie Webb and
Kamryn Cantwell on its way to a 94-78 victory over Henderson State on Thursday night in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

The wins improve the Savage Storm to 18-7 overall and 15-6 in Great American Conference play heading into a senior day matchup with Ouachita Baptist on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

Webb matched her season high with 31 points and cracked the 30-point plateau for the third time this season. She went 11-of-19 from the floor with a three and 8-of-8 at the free throw line. In addition she pulled down seven rebounds and handed out a pair of assists.

Cantwell was not far behind with a career-high 29 points on 8-of-15 shooting with a 4-of-5 effort from beyond the arc and a perfect 9-of-9 performance at the free throw line while also pulling down a team-best eight rebounds and handing out two assists.

Katie Branam added 10 points off the bench on a 4-of-4 shooting effort with a three.

Tracy Johnson and
Briley Moon each dished out a team-high three assists.

Southeastern snapped the conference record for free throw percentage which had previously stood at 15-of-15 for a team before the Storm connected on 22-of-22 free throws on Thursday night.

Overall SE hit 55.2 percent overall and 66.7 percent from beyond the arc.

The teams played close early, clawing to a 12-12 tie by the 4:05 mark of the first quarter before the Storm reeled off an 11-2 run capped by a
Logan Oestreich layup with 29 second to go to take a 23-14 lead after one quarter.

HSU would trim the lead back to five points early in the second quarter, but an 8-4 run would extend it back to nine points after a Cantwell three, and by the 4:01 mark of the second quarter an Oestreich bucket would give the Storm a 40-29 lead.

After the Reddies closed the gap to eight points, SE finished the half on a 15-7 run to take a 55-39 lead at the half.

The lead peaked early in the third at 18 points, but by the 3:01 mark of the quarter HSU had outscored the Storm 19-7 to trim the SE lead to 65-58.

A Branam three would stop the rally and the Storm finished the half on a 10-2 run to take a 75-60 lead into the fourth quarter.

The Reddies would cut the lead to 11 points three minutes into the fourth quarter, but Cantwell would pick up both ends of a three-point play and the Storm would pull away for a 94-78 win.
