DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern closed out its Saturday twinbill strong with a 4-1 victory in game two of its double-header against Northeastern State after dropping the opener 10-6 at Mike Metheny Field.

The split lifts the Savage Storm to 4-3 overall on the season heading into the series finale on Sunday which has been moved up to an 11 a.m. start in an attempt to beat forecasted weather moving in.

In game two
Davis Jenks picked up his second win of the season, his first complete-game victory, after allowing a run on four hits with five strikeouts over 7.0 innings.

Niko Piazza picked up two hits in the contest, one of them a home run, while collecting a pair of RBI.

Five others picked up a hit apiece, including
Anthony Cassos who finished with the team's other two RBI.

Niko Piazza led off the second inning with a solo shot to take a 1-0 lead.

That lead would grow in the fifth, first on a Piazza RBI single to score
Chris Eusay, followed a batter later by a two-run single by Cassos to score
Colton Buckner and Piazza for a 4-0 lead.

NSU would pick up a run in the top of the seventh, but Jenks would control he damage and hang on for the 4-1 win.

In Saturday's opener
Colton Buckner went 2-for-2 at the plate with three walks, while
Davis Jenks drew a trio of walks as well while picking up a hit and an RBI.

Chris Eusay collected a team-best three hits and drove in one, while
Richard Ware connected on his second home runs of the weekend and had two RBI.
Â
Niko Piazza and
Joyal Savage would each add RBI.
Â
Logan Teske was saddled with the loss after going 2.1 innings in the start and allowing six runs, five earned, on seven hits with two strikeouts.

Tyler McGrew came on in relief with 5.2 innings of work and was hit for four runs, three earned, on six hits.

Jordan Compton would record one-third of an inning, striking out one and walking three before
Kason Grant finished the contest by retiring the final two outs.

The RiverHawks scored two runs in the top of each of the first three innings to open up a 6-0 lead midway through the third.

SE would finally answer in the bottom of the third with a Eusay double that was followed immediately by a two-run homer by Ware to cut the deficit to 6-2 after three innings.

NSU would tack on another run in the top of the fourth on a solo homer before adding another two runs in the sixth to take a 9-2 lead.
Â
SE would get a run back in the seventh on a Jenks RBI single that plated Bruce.
Â
After NSU picked up another run in the top of the eighth, a Eusay RBI single in the bottom half would make the score 10-4.
Â
Piazza would draw a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the ninth to plate Buckner and a Savage sac fly would close the gap to 10-6 which would hold to be the final.
