DURANT, Okla. – Fresh off its first Great American Conference Regular Season Championship top-seeded Southeastern will open play in the GAC Tournament on March 5 at 8 p.m. in Bartlesville, Okla., when it faces eighth-seeded Southern Arkansas.

The Savage Storm enter the postseason tournament with a 19-7 record overall on the year and finished league play with a 16-6 mark, earning a share of the regular season title in a tie with Harding and Southwestern Oklahoma State, but earning the number one seed thanks to owning the tiebreakers over both.

SE comes into the postseason on a two-game winning streak and have won four of its last five and six of its last eight.

The Storm is paced on offense by
Katie Webb who is leading the league with 18.7 ppg while also pulling down 7.7 rpg.

She is followed in scoring by
Kamryn Cantwell who is putting up 15.0 ppg on the season, while
Briley Moon is averaging 10.9 ppg and hitting 47.7 percent from three-point range.

Moon and Cantwell are pulling down 5.3 and 5.0 rebounds per game, respectively, while Cantwell is handing out a team-high 3.8 assists per game.

Southeastern has picked up wins in its previous meetings against SAU, but they have not come easy as the Muleriders high-pressure style into 55 turnovers over two games this season.

The Storm won its home game 83-75 on Jan. 11 and followed up with an 82-77 win in Magnolia, Ark., on Feb. 20.

Cantwell posted 20-point outings in each, averaging 24.5 ppg over both contests with 5.0 assists per game.

Webb was not far behind with 22.5 ppg over the two contests, including a 28-point effort in the first meeting.

SAU comes into the matchup with a 17-11 record overall and an 11-11 mark in league play.

The Muleriders are paced by Diamond Morris and Kisi Young who average 10.5 and 10.1 ppg, respectively.

Young is hauling in a team-best 5.5 rebounds per game.

A win on Thursday would send the Storm to the semifinals for a 5:45 game on March 7 facing the winner of the 4/5 matchup between Southern Nazarene and Henderson State.
