DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern men's basketball will make the familiar drive to Shawnee, Okla., to take on some unfamiliar competition when it opens play in the GAC/NSIC Crossover on Nov. 12 against No. 25 Minnesota State-Moorhead at 5:30 p.m. followed by a matchup with Wayne State at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 13.

The Savage Storm are finally set to open the regular season after nearly knocking off Division I UTA in its lone exhibition contest.

In that contest, SE drained 14 threes and led for much of the second half before the Mavericks made a late run to take the game 68-64.

Adam Dworsky led the Savage Storm offense with 15 points on the strength of 3-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc while also dishing out a game-high seven assists.

Kellen Manek was next in line with 11 points while also knocking down a trio of threes, while
Ante Brzovic finished with seven, and
Bobby Johnson and
Kyle Leslie each added six.

Brzovic led all players on the glass with 11 rebounds, while Jett Strernberger added eight.

Dworsky's seven assists led all player, while Manek added six and SE finished with 20 on the night.

MSUM comes into the weekend at 1-2 on the season after competing at the D2 Tipoff Classic which featured two teams ranked in the top five in the NABC D2 Preseason Coaches Poll. MSUM was receiving votes and was just outside the top 25 in the preseason poll.

Lorenzo McGhee leads the team in points per game with 13.3, followed by freshman guard Jacob Beeninga with 12. Dane Zimmer leads the team in rebounds per game with 5.7. Junior guard Gavin Baumgartner leads the team in assists per game with 2.3.

WSC will be opening its regular season and returns all five starters from last year's team that was 11-7 overall and won the NSIC South Division for the second time in three seasons with a 10-4 league mark.
