Storm Set for Thanksgiving Classic Nov. 23-24

DURANT, Okla. – After opening its home schedule with a blowout victory, Southeastern will now return to the road for the Drury Classic, first facing host Drury at 7:45 p.m. on Nov. 23 in Springfield, Mo., before closing out the trip with a Nov. 24 matchup versus Missouri S&T at 3:15 p.m.
 
The Savage Storm head into the contest with a 2-1 record on the season after cruising to a 128-70 win over Arlington Baptist in its home opener this past Wednesday.
 
Southeastern saw a 64-year-old record fall in that contest as Jett Sternberger posted a 55-point outing to set the SE and Great American Conference record for points in a single game. He now heads into the third week of the season averaging 31.7 ppg which currently leads the nation while shooting 60.8 percent overall from the floor and 51.5 percent from beyond the arc, hitting 17-of-33.
 
He is joined in double-figures by Kellen Manek and Ante Brzovic, with Manek putting up 15.7 per outing and Brzovic right behind with 13.0 per game.
 
Adam Dworsky is just short of double-figures in the scoring column with 9.3 ppg, but is back in familiar territory with 8.0 assists per game which ranks second in the nation in the early going.
 
Brzovic and Manek also lead the way in rebounds, with Brzovic hauling in 9.0 rpg while Manek is next in line with 8.3 per contest.
 
SE opens the trip versus Drury who comes into the week 1-2 on the year, including an 80-71 loss to Southern Nazarene over the weekend.
 
The Panthers feature a foursome of double-digit scorers, led by Victor Nwagbarachoa who is averaging 14.7 ppg while shooting 53.8 percent from the field.
 
Malek Davis leads the team in assists with 2.7 per game while adding 13.3 ppg, with Obi Okafor pulling down a team-best 6.7 rebounds per contest with 10.0 ppg.
 
Missouri S&T comes into the classic with an 0-1 record on the year after falling to Trevecca Nazarene on opening weekend but seeing its second matchup canceled.
 
The Miners are led by Ryan Parker's 16.0 ppg which came on a 60.0 percent shooting effort, while Kaden Freeman dished out three assists in the team's opener.
 
Junlien Smith has a team-leading 6.0 rebounds per outing, while adding 15.0 ppg.
