WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Southeastern opened the day with a 5-3 win in eight innings over Southwestern Oklahoma State to secure the series victory, but dropped the finale Saturday afternoon 6-2, missing out on the series sweep in Weatherford, Okla.

The split moves the Savage Storm to 27-5 overall on the season and 17-4 in Great American conference play.

Cheyenne Mahy put together a 3-for-4 effort in game one with a pair of solo home runs, finishing with two RBI.
Â
Kamarie Wallace added three hits as well, while
Gracie Ore collected two.
Â
Kady Fryrear,
Augusta Duty,
Peyton Streetman,
Jaleigh Durst, and
Lauren White each had hits as the Storm finished with 13 for the contest.

Mahy's two RBI led the way for SE while Streetman, Ore, and White each drove in one.
Â
Mahy got the start in the circle and tossed 6.1 innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on four hits with seven strikeouts in a no decision.

Amberlyn Walsworth would come on in relief and pick up the win after throwing 1.2 innings, allowing a run on two hits with one strikeout.

Southeastern scored first with a solo homer from Mahy followed by a Treetman RBI single to take a 2-0 lead midway through the fourth inning.

The Bulldogs would get one run back, taking advantage of an SE error in the fifth and would tie the game at 2-2 with a seventh inning homer, sending the game to extra innings.

Mahy's second solo shot of the day would break the tie in the top of the eighth, with an Ore RBI double and a Durst RBI groundout stretching the SE lead to 5-2.

SWOSU would get one back in the bottom of the eighth, but the Storm would hold on for the 5-3 win.

Mahy continued her hot streak into he second game on Saturday, connecting on a pair of hits and driving in two.

Duty, Wallace, Streetman, and
Karissa Marshall each had one hit.

Walsworth got the start in the circle and tossed 3.0 innings in a no decision, allowing a run on three hits with two K's.

Ashley Hedrick would come on in relief and was saddled with the loss in an inning of work, allowing three runs, only one of them earned, on two hits.

Micayla Galloway would toss the final 2.0 innings, allowing two runs on four hits.

SE would crack the scoreboard first in the finale with a Mahy two-run single to drive in Durst and
Karissa Marshall for a 2-0 lead midway through the second inning.

SWOSU would find an answer with runs in each of the next three innings, scoring one in the third, three in the fourth and two more in the fifth to open up a 6-2 lead which they would hold onto to swipe the series finale.
