Southeastern Readies for OBU, HSU Road Swing

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will be aiming to get back it he win column when it makes its second trip of the season to Arkansas, this time heading to Arkadelphia, Ark., for a Jan. 20 matchup with Ouachita Baptist at 7:30 p.m. followed by a Jan. 22 contest at 3 p.m. versus Henderson State.
 
The Savage Storm head into the road swing with an 11-3 record overall on the year and a 6-2 mark in Great American Conference play, but are coming off a 115-113 loss I double- overtime in its last outing before its Saturday matchup versus Southwestern Oklahoma State was postponed. On the year, SE has dropped three games by a total of six points, with three points being the largest margin of defeat.
 
Southeastern continues to average 89.1 ppg on the season and boasts five players averaging in double figures on the year.
 
Jett Sternberger leads that group with 19.7 ppg while shooting 46.5 percent overall and 42.2 percent from beyond the arc with 43 made threes on the season.
 
Adam Dworsky boosted his average to 17.4 ppg thanks to a combined 70 points over the last two contests, including a career-high 43 in the Storm's last outing. He is shooting 53.8 overall from the field and is dishing out a league-leading 7.4 assists per game.
 
Ante Brzovic is next in line and averages a double-double with 16.1 ppg and 10.3 rpg, boosted heavily by a 17-point, 17-rebound outing followed by a 22-point, 15-rebound night over his last two contests.
 
Kellen Manek is hitting 45.9 percent of his threes and is averaging 14.0 ppg while pulling down 6.8 rebounds per contest.
 
Bobby Johnson rounds out the group with 12.8 ppg on the strength of a 52.1 percent shooting effort from three-point range.
 
OBU comes into Thursday's meeting with a 4-12 record overall on the season and a 2-8 mark in league play and has lost four of its last five.
 
The Tigers have a trio of double-digit scorers led by Ma'Darius Hobson who is putting up 15.5 ppg and pulling down a team-best 5.6 rebounds per contest.
 
Lorenz Nero leads the team in assists with 2.7 per game.
 
HSU enters the weekend with a 10-5 record on the season and a 6-3 mark in league play and having won three-straight games.
 
The Reddies are led by Malik Riddle who is averaging 10.5 ppg on the season as HSU is putting up 69.2 ppg as a team.
 
Ryan Boyce leads the way on the board with 5.1 rebounds per game, with Alvin Miles dishing out 3.0 assists per contest.
