DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern had four 20-point scorers and knocked down 18 threes as a team on its way to a 115-58 victory over Harding on Thursday night in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
Â
The win lifts the Savage Storm to 13-4 overall on the year and 8-3 in Great American Conference play heading into a Saturday afternoon matchup with Arkansas Tech at 3 p.m. back in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
Â
"Every mistake you make gets amplified the later the season goes," said head coach
Kelly Green. "When you don't take care of business, it's not even so much what you don't do, but if somebody else in the league does. Goes in and wins someplace. You lose at home and somebody else doesn't lose to that team at home then it puts you a step behind."
Â
"The first time we played Harding they played very well," he continued. "They made shots and we turned the ball over, and we missed shots. But we knew that we got open shots. We knew that if we just keep coming, and keep coming and keep our pace up we're going to start making shots. It's the same thing we've said since way back when, what are we going to do when we don't make shots. We've got to defend, we've got to rebound and we can't turn the ball over."
Â
Bobby Johnson paced all scorers with 26 points on the night, hitting 6-of-11 from beyond the arc and going 10-of-15 overall form the field.
Â
Jett Sternberger was next in line with 22 points with a trio of threes while also hauling in seven rebounds.
