SE Women Return Home to Host UAM, SAU

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will set out looking to carry over the momentum of its recent Arkansas road swing sweep when it returns to Bloomer Sullivan Arena to host Arkansas-Monticello on Jan. 6 at 5:30 p.m. followed by a Jan. 8 matchup with Southern Arkansas at 1 p.m.
 
The Savage Storm come in winners of two in-a-row, lifting their record to 5-7 overall on the season and 3-3 in Great American Conference play.
 
Southeastern is 8-2 versus UAM over the last 10 meetings, with the last matchup coming in the finals of the 2020 GAC Tournament where the Storm completed its GAC Championship run with a 71-52 win over the Cotton Blossoms.
 
SE has won three-straight at home versus UAM and is 6-3 in Bloomer Sullivan Arena all-time against the Blossoms.
 
Kamryn Cantwell is coming off of back-to-back 20 point performances in the two Storm wins over Arkansas Tech and Harding, lifting her season average to 15.2 ppg on the year while adding 4.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists per outing.
 
Briley Moon is right behind with 14.1 ppg on the season and is the team's top rebounder with 6.8 rpg.
 
Chandler Kemp leads a group of seven players who are averaging four points or more per game, as she puts up 6.2 per outing.
 
Lauren Beason is adding 5.5 per game while Kentoya Woods lifted her average to 5.5 per game after posting 17 second-half points in the Storm win over HU on Saturday.
 
UAM comes into Thursday night's matchup with an 0-12 record on the season and an 0-6 mark in GAC play.
 
Taylor Flores leads the Cotton Blossoms with 16.3 ppg, while Bailey Harris is pulling down a team-best 5.6 rebounds per contest.
 
The Blossoms are averaging 58.7 ppg offensively, while opponents are scoring 82.6 per game.
 
SAU comes into the weekend with a 7-4 overall record and a 2-3 record in conference play, having lost back-to-back games to Northwestern Oklahoma State and Southwestern Oklahoma State.
 
SE has won the last five meetings with Southern Arkansas, including the last two games played in Durant, as well as the last matchup which was in the opening round of the 2020 GAC tournament.
 
The Muleriders are paced offensively by Kisi Young who is putting up 15.0 ppg and leading a group of six players who are averaging double-figures. Young also leads the team on the board with 7.7 rpg.
