DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern's women's basketball team is set to open the 2022-23 season as it makes its longest trip of the year for a GAC/NSIC Crossover event in Sterling, Colo., where the Savage Storm will take on Minot State on back-to-back nights, first squaring off at 7 p.m. (central) on Nov. 12 before a rematch on Nov. 13 at 2 p.m. (central).

SE heads into the season picked to finish sixth in the league according to the Great American Conference preseason poll and are coming off a 12-17 season in which they posted a 10-12 conference record and finished eighth in the league standings, advancing to the postseason tournament.

SE will come in led by
Briley Moon who was a second team All-GAC selection a season ago after averaging 13.6 ppg and 6.2 rebounds per outing.

The Storm return five of its top seven scorers from last season and will be looking to replace a pair of starters.

Moon is joined by
Caitlin Kobiske who put up 7.4 ppg and hauled in 3.2 rebounds per outing, with
Lauren Beason,
Kentoya Woods, and
Grace Alverson each averaging 4.0 ppg or more and averaging more than 10 minutes per game.

Southeastern will be welcoming eight newcomers to go with eight returners from last season's squad.

Minot State comes into he season picked sevenths in the North division of the NSIC and 14
th overall in the 16-team league after posting an 8-18 record a season ago.

Kate Head is the team's leading returing scorer after putting up 11.8 ppg a season ago with 5.1 assists per game.

In addition to Head, MSU returns two other players who started at least 10 games a season ago, with Emma Mogen posting 5.2 ppg and 4.5 rebounds per contest, while Natasha Elliott added 8.2 ppg and 4.6 rpg.
