DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern had a trio of double-digit scorers and shot 57.1 percent from three-point range en route to an 80-61 victory over Arkansas-Monticello on Saturday afternoon in Monticello, Ark.

The win snaps a three-game losing streak and lifts the Savage Storm 10-13 overall and 8-9 in Great American Conference play.

"We didn't play any better or any worse than we have in a lot of games," said head coach
Darin Grover, "But the shots went in. I look like a smart coach when the shots go in, I look like an idiot when the shots don't go in. I thought we did a decent job defensively, not a great job. And offensively, we just really took what they gave us."

Southeastern connected on 12-of-21 shots from beyond the arc while shooting 48.2 percent overall from the field.

Briley Moon led the way with 15 points, all of them coming from three-point range where she hit 5-of-8.

Kamryn Cantwell and
Haiden Williams each added 14 pints, with Cantwell going 4-of-8 overall while Williams was even sharper, hitting 6-of-7 from the field, including both threes she attempted.

Chandler Kemp followed with eight points, while overall 10 of the 11 SE players who plays would score.

Moon also led the way on the boards with seven rebounds while Cantwell and Kemp each dished out four assists.

UAM took the lead out of the gate at, going up 5-3 two minutes into the contest before the Storm answered with a 20-4 run capped by a Moon three to go in front 23-9 with 1:50 to go in the first quarter.

The Cotton Blossoms would score the final four points and SE would take a 23-13 lead into the second quarter.

UAM closed the gap to eight points to open the second quarter, but a 17-5 run capped by a
Lauren Beason three to extend the lead to 40-20 by the 3:44 mark.

The Blossoms would chip that down to 14 points, but Moon and
Grace Alverson would finish the half with threes to give SE a 46-26 lead at the half.

UAM would twice close the gap to 16 points in the third quarter, but the Storm would close strong with 10 of the final 12 points, including a Kemp layup in the final seconds to stretch the lead to 63-39 after three quarters.

Southeastern would stretch its lead to a high of 23 points on a Williams bucket to take a 75-52 lead before cruising on to an 80-61 final score.
