Storm Close Regular Season With Key Home Contests

DURANT, Okla. – After one last adjustment to the schedule, Southeastern will head into the final weekend of the regular season looking to secure a regular season Great American Conference Championship when it hosts Oklahoma Baptist at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 25 and will close out the season on Feb. 26 with a 7:30 p.m. home contest against Northwestern Oklahoma State.
 
Both games will be played at Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
 
The Savage Storm come into the weekend with a 21-5 record on the year and a 16-4 mark in GAC play and knotted in a tie atop the league with its Friday opponent OBU. A win by the Storm would secure a regular season championship and the top seed in next week's conference tournament.
 
SE is riding a league-best five-game winning streak and have won nine of its last 10 on its way to a No. 6 ranking in this week's Central Region poll as the team aims for a third regional tournament berth over the last four seasons.
 
Five Storm players are averaging double-figures, led by Ante Brzovic who is averaging a double-double with 17.5 ppg and 10.5 rpg.
 
Adam Dworsky is next in line with 17.3 ppg and is handing out 6.8 assists per outing.
 
Jett Sternberger is putting up 16.2 ppg, with Bobby Johnson next in line at 13.6 and Kellen Manek rounding out the group with 12.9 per game.
 
SE is shooting 48.2 percent overall as a team on the year while also holding an edge on the boards, with Brzovic pulling down 10.5 rpg and Manek hauling in 6.5 per outing.
 
OBU comes into Friday's matchup with a 19-7 mark on the season and matches the Storm ay 16-4 in GAC play and have won three-straight.
 
Burke Putnam leads the Bisons with 21.0 ppg, while Brantly Thompson is handing out 4.5 assists per outing and Nigel Wilcox is pulling down a team-high 6.2 rebounds per game.
 
NWOSU comes into the weekend with a 19-7 overall record and a 14-6 record in league play after winning their last three.
 
The Rangers have four players averaging in double-digits, led by Larry White and Malik Parsons who are putting up 13.3 ppg each, with Bubba Furlong pulling in 7.7 rpg, while Brian Free is dishing out 2.9 assists per contest.
