DURANT, Okla. – Missed opportunities left Southeastern playing catch up all afternoon, dropping both ends of a doubleheader versus Arkansas-Monticello, dropping game one 12-7 before falling in the finale 9-2 in extra innings on Saturday at Mike Metheny Field.

The losses drop the Savage Storm to 20-6 overall on the season and 11-4 in Great American Conference play. It marks the first time this season Se has lost consecutive games and snaps a nine0-game winning streak.

Dylan Herd turned in a 4-for-5 effort in the opener, while
Seth Morrow and
Damon Burroughs each added a hit.

Morrow and Herd each had doubles, with Morrow driving in four runs on the contest and Herd adding two RBI.

Jacob Potter got the start and tossed three innings and took the loss after allowing five runs on seven hits with three strikeouts.

Jordan Compton tossed the next three innings and was tagged for five runs on seven hits with two K's.

Beau Swimmer tossed 1.1 innings and allowed two runs, one earned, on one hit, with
Colton Craddock tossing the final 1.2 innings, allowing two hits.

SE would strand 12 runners in game one, twice leaving the bases loaded.

UAM jumped out to a 5-0 lead, but the Storm answered in the bottom of the third with a three-run double by Morrow to close the gap to 5-3.

The Boll Weevils would score in the fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth innings to open a 12-3 lead.

Herd and Morrow would each drive in a run in the bottom of the eighth, and Herd would add an RBI in the ninth as the Storm closed the final tally to 12-7.

Six different players collected a hit in the finale, with
Matt Miles connecting on a solo homer and Herd adding an RBI.

Connor Priest got the start and tossed three innings and allowed two runs on two hits with three strikeouts.

Cole Canuteson tossed the next three innings without allowing a hit while also striking out three.

Jackson Sioson followed with two-thirds of an inning and allowed a hit while striking out one and walking one.

Kenneth Klier tossed the next two-thirds and was saddled with the loss after allowing six runs on three hits with three walks and a strikeout.

A Miles homer in the top of the first gave the Storm an early 1-0 lead.

UAM answered in the third with a two-run homer to take a 2-1 lead.

A Herd sac fly in the fifth would knot the game at 2-2 which would remain the score through seven innings, forcing bonus baseball.
