ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Southeastern scored the first nine runs of the game and held off a late Ouachita Baptist charge to pick up a win in the series finale 10-7 on Saturday afternoon in Arkadelphia, Ark.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 24-22 overall and 15-12 in Great American Conference play with two league series remaining on the schedule.

The contest was delayed due to weather, originally set to start at 11 a.m. the game not only was delayed until 1:25 p.m. it was also moved across the street to be played on Henderson State's softball field due to conditions at OBU's field.

Marilyn Alvarado,
Kamarie Wallace and
Jaleigh Durst each picked up two hits, with Alvarado and Wallace both doubling, while Durst homered.

Peyton Streetman,
Kady Fryrear, and
Bailey Beard each added a hit.
Â
Alexis Lambert, Wallace, and Fryrear each drove in two runs, while Streetman,
Cheyenne Mahy, Alvarado, and Durst had one RBI apiece.

In the circle, Mahy got the start and collected the win after tossing six innings and allowing seven runs on 11 hits with six strikeouts.
Â
Amberlyn Walsworth would come on for the save with an inning of work, allowing a hit and striking out one.
Â
Fryrear would put SE on the scoreboard in the top of the first with a two-run double.
Â
That lead grew to 3-0 when Durst led off the third inning with a solo homer down the left-field line.
Â
Streetman added a run with a bases-loaded infield single in the fourth inning which was followed by a Lambert RBI walk. A Batter later Mahy would bring in a run on a groundout and Alvarado tacked on one more with an RBI single. Wallace would push that lead out to 9-0 by finishing off the fourth inning with a two-run double.

OBU would pick up a pair of runs in the fifth and add three more in the sixth to close the gap to 9-5 heading to the final inning.

Lambert would plate Durst on a sac fly in the top of the seventh to edge the lead to 10-5, and the Tigers would bring in two runs before Walsworth would come in and close the door on Southeastern's 10-7 win.
