HOT SPRINGS, Ark. –
Richard Ware homered twice and
Damon Burroughs put together a 4 hit outing but it was not enough to extend Southeastern's Great American Conference Tournament run came to an end in an elimination game loss to Arkansas Tech, 16-12, on Sunday evening in Hot Spring, Ark.

The Savage Storm see their 2022 season come to an end with a 32-20 record.

Burroughs finished with a 4-for-5 effort at the plate, while Ware and
Cameron French each added two hits.

Matt Miles,
Reid Rice and
Bryce McDermott each added a hit.
Â
Ware homered twice, while Miles added a solo homer, while McDermott added a triple.
Â
Ware finished with five RBI on the contest, with McDermott driving in two. Miles, Rice, Dykan Herd and
Hayden Evans each plated one run.
Â
Southeastern used nine pitchers in the contest, with
Dylan Turner getting the start and a no decision after tossing four innings and allowing a run on five hits with one strikeout.

Conner Priest was tagged for five runs on six hits in one-third of an inning before
Jacob Potter came on and allowed two runs on no hits in an inning of work.

Hayden Alexander followed with an inning of work as well without allowing a run and giving up two hits.
Â
Jackson Sioson would follow with two innings of work and was tagged with the loss after allowing six runs on five hits.
Â
Coby Langford would follow and allowed a run after facing just one hitter before leaving due to an injury.

Kenneth Klier followed and allowed a run without recording an out before
Logan Teske who recorded one-third of an inning as did
Beau Swimmer to finish he game.

SE got on the board first as Miles would lead off the bottom of the first inning with a solo shot for the early 1-0 lead.
Â
McDermott would double that lead to 2-0 in the bottom of the second with an RBI triple to plate Burroughs.
Â
ATU would get on the board with a run in the third inning, but the Storm would respond in the bottom of the fourth with McDermott drawing a bases-loaded walk followed by a Herd sac fly to push the edge out to 4-1.

The Wonder Boys would explode for five runs in the top of the fifth inning with six-straight hits to open the inning to take a 6-4 lead.

The lead was short-lived though as Burroughs would single home Rice and a batter later Ware would connect on a three-run homer to left to regain the lead at 8-6.

ATU would load the bases in the sixth and bring in two runs before the Storm got out of the jam, tying the game at 8-8.

Southeastern would again regain the lead in the seventh, going up one when Rice came home on a wild pitch and pushing the lead to 11-8 shortly after as Ware connected on a two-run homer to left, his second of the game.

Again, the lead would be short-lived though as ATU posted back-to-back homers, the first a two-run shot, to again knot the game up, this time at 11-11.

SE was held off the board in the bottom of the eighth only to see the Wonder Boys reel off five runs in the top of the ninth to take a 16-11 lead.

Three of the first four hitters for the Storm in the bottom of the ninth before a Hayden Evens RBI groundout would close the gap to 16-12, but that would be the end of the SE rally.
