Kobiske Puts Up 18 points in SE Loss

DURANT, Okla. – Caitlin Kobiske turned in 18 points for the game and Southeastern shot 60.0 percent in the fourth quarter as it looked to mount a rally that did not materialize in a 62-52 loss on Saturday Afternoon to Henderson State in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 4-14 overall on the season and 2-11 in Great American Conference play.

Kobiske hit 8-of-16 from the floor and knocked down her first three of the season on her way to 18 points and added eight rebounds and handed out four assists.

Abbie Barr turned in 11 points to join her in double figures, hitting a pair of threes, while Briley Moon ended the night with 10 points.

Moon handed out a game-high five assists, while Barr matched Kobiske with eight rebounds.

After trading buckets early, Southeastern would use a 9-3 run to take a 12-6 lead after a Kobiske jumper at the 2:40 mark of the opening frame.

HSU would trim the gap to two points before SE would score five of the last seven points to take a 19-14 lead at the quarter break.

The Reddies would use an 11-2 run to erase the Storm lead and take a 25-21 lead with 2:53 to play in the first half.

SE would answer with four-straight on a pair of Macy Bookout free throws and Kobiske bucket to knot the game at 25-25, but the Reddies would score the final four points of the half to lead 29-25 at the break.

The Storm would struggle from the field in the third quarter, hitting 18.8 percent and 1-of-7 from three-point range as HSU would outscore SE 14-7 for the quarter to push its lead to 43-32.

SE would put together a 9-2 run to close the deficit to 47-43 following a Lauryn Scalice three with 4:09 remaining.

That was as close as they would get though, with the Reddies scoring the next five points, holding off the Storm to make the final 61-52.
