Caitlin Kobiske free throw would force a second overtime and she followed that with a go-ahead jumper with six seconds to play in the second overtime to lift Southeastern to a 75-74 win over Winona State on Saturday night in St. Joseph, Mo., at the Central Region Challenge.

The win improves the Savage Storm to 1-1 on the season heading into the home opener on Nov. 14 at 5:30 p.m. versus Southwest Assemblies of God in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

Kobiske turned in a double-double in the contest with 17 points, matching a game-high 17 points while hauling in 10 rebounds.

Ashton Hackler would match the game-high 17 points as well, connecting on 8-of-8 at the free throw line.

Lauren Beason was right on their heels with 15 points with four threes.

Aimee Alverson dished out a game-best six assists while Kobiske followed with four assists.

Holli Lindley led all players on the boards with 13 rebounds and just missed a double-double with nine points.

Abbie Barr each chipped in six points.

WSU would score the first eight points of the game and the Storm would trail the entirety of the first quarter, closing the gap to 15-13 by the end of the period.

Lauryn Scalice three to open the second quarter would give SE its first lead of the game at 16-15 and the teams would trade the lead over the course of the second quarter with the Warriors taking a 24-23 lead into the half.

Southeastern would regain the lead and stretch its advantage to four twice in the third quarter, first on a Lindley three and later on a pair of Hackler free throws, but a 7-0 run by WSU later in the third would put the Storm behind by six points before a Beason three cut the deficit to 45-42 after three quarters.

Winona State would lead by as many as seven points in the fourth quarter and held a 62-56 advantage with 2:34 to play in regulation.

Southeastern would then respond with a 7-0 run capped by a pair of Kobiske free throws to give SE a 63-61 lead before WSU hit a layup with 14 seconds to play which would be the game-tying bucket to force OT.

The first overtime saw a combined six points scored, with the final one coming on a Kobiske free throw to tie the game at 66-66 with six seconds to play, forcing a second overtime session.

A Hackler three opened the second OT and the teams would go back and forth before WSU took a 74-73 lead with 22 seconds to play on a pair of free throws.

SE would get a look as a final shot, with the first one off the mark before
Kenzli Warden grabbed an offensive rebound and Kobiske knocked down a jumper with six seconds remaining to give SE a 75-74 victory.
