Southeastern Ends Fall Semester with Road Loss

ALVA, Okla. – Kenzli Warden turned in a double-double off the bench, but it was not enough to lift Southeastern in an 86-64 loss on the road to Northwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday afternoon in Alva, Okla.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 4-6 overall on the year overall and 0-4 in Great American Conference play, while the Rangers move to 10-1 on the season and 3-1 in league play.

Warden connected on 5-of-10 shots to put up a team-high 13 points, and pulled down 0 rebounds, including four offensive boards to pace the team on the glass.

Grace Alverson was next in line with 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting, all from beyond the arc.

Holli Lindley, Bri Wietelman, and Eryn Dolan each added six points.

Aimee Alverson and Lauryn Scalice each dished out four assists to lead the way, while Warden snagged a trio of steals.

NWOSU would jump out to a 16-5 lead to open the game, but three Beason free throws and a Bri Wietelman layup would let the Storm score five of the final seven points to cut the deficit to 18-10 at the first break.

A Beason three would open the second quarter and use a 10-5 run capped by back-to-back Aimee Alverson threes to close the gap to 23-20 by the 5:38 mark of the second quarter.

However, the Rangers would close the first half on an 18-4 run to leave the Storm in a 41-24 deficit at the halftime break.

SE would hit four threes in the third quarter, but was unable to offset an 11-of-14 effort from NWOSU as they connected on 5-of-6 threes to score 32 third-quarter points and take a 73-42 lead into the fourth.

The Storm would win the fourth quarter, hitting 6-of-12 for the quarter as eight players would score in the frame, cutting the final deficit to 86-64.
