DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern earned the No. 3 seed and will open play in the 2023 Great American Conference Tournament on Friday, March 3 at 8 p.m. when it faces sixth-seeded Henderson State in the quarterfinals at FireLake Arena in Shawnee, Okla.

The Savage Storm enter the postseason with an 18-9 record overall and wrapped the season with a 15-7 mark in GAC play, including a three-game winning streak to end the regular season.

The reigning conference player of the week,
Brennen Burns was a big part of that streak reaching three games as he not only poured in 26 points in the season finale, but also drained a baseline jumper at the buzzer to lift the Storm to the road win.

Burns has lifted his scoring average to 15.4 ppg while shooting 53.2 percent from the floor and has added 4.9 assists per outing and pulled down 3.3 rebounds per game.

Jett Sternberger leads the team in scoring with 17.2 ppg and has added 4.7 rebounds per contest with 3.0 assists per game.

Kody Clouet is next in line offensively with 12.1 ppg and is adding 5.3 rebounds per game, with
Kyle Leslie adding 11.7 ppg while pulling down a team-best 6.6 rpg.

The two teams split their regular season matchups, with Southeastern taking the first meeting in Durant by a 99-73 score with Leslie dropping 34 points on eight made threes.

The second meeting went to HSU by a 106-72 margin with
Aaron Jacob coming off the bench to score 18 in that outing.

The Reddies close the regular season with a 14-14 record and an 11-11 mark in GAC play.

HSU is led by Franck Kamgain who is putting up 13.9 ppg, while Alvin Miles and Malik Riddle are posting 11.8 and 11.4 ppg, respectively.

Tomislav Miholjcic rounds out the team's double-digit scorers with 10.4 ppg, while leading the team on the boards with 6.4 rpg.
