Storm Fall in Midweek Matchup vs OBU

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern gave up an eight run inning and found itself playing catchup for the rest of the afternoon en route to a 17-4 loss against Oklahoma Baptist in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday afternoon.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 14-17 on the season heading back into conference play with a three-game series versus Northwestern Oklahoma State March 31 and April 1 in Alva, Okla.

Cameron Cromer collected a pair of hits including a double, while Cache Stone homered to lead the Storm.

Sam Creed, Joseph Ramirez, Cameron French, and Cory Bonstrom each added a hit.

Reid Rice, Seth Morrow, and Stone each drove in a run.

Cameron Hauch got the start and took the loss after tossing three innings and allowing eight runs, only one of them earned, on five hits with three strikeouts.

Colby Kroutil came on in relief and allowed five runs on six hits across 2.1 innings before handing off to Cody Akers  who tossed an inning and allowed four runs on two hits.

Jacob Davenport would finish the contest without allowing a run over two-thirds of an inning.

OBU connected on three homers and took advantage of a key error in the third inning to pen up an 8-0 lead.

It would reach 9-0 in the fourth before the Storm got on the board in the fifth as Creed scored on a wild pitch and Ramirez came home on a Morrow RBI groundout to make the score 9-2.

Two homers in the sixth extended the Bison lead to 13-2, but a bases-loaded walk by Rice would get SE back on the board.

OBU would add on a grand slam in the top of the seventh and Stone would hit a solo shot in the bottom half to fashion the 17-4 final score.
