ALVA, Okla. – Southeastern combined for 23 hits over two games and polished off a series sweep of Northwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday afternoon, taking game one 6-3 before closing the day with a 7-5 win in the finale in Alva, Okla.

The wins lift the Savage Storm to 17-17 overall on the season and 9-12 in Great American Conference play.

In Saturday's opener,
Sam Creed turned in three hits to lead the Storm.

Cory Bonstrom,
Damon Burroughs, and
Seth Morrow each added two hits, while
Matt Miles,
Austin Thorp, and
Cameron French had one apiece.
Â
Creed, Burroughs, Morrow, Thorp, and
Cameron Cromer each recorded an RBI.
Â
Michale Barta got the start and tossed 8.0 innings on his way to his fourth win of the season, allowing a run on eight hits with nine strikeouts.

Patrick Norman would come on and allow two runs on three hits without recording a hit before
Coby Langford would come in to pick up the save by retiring the first three batters he faced.

The Storm got on the board in the first when Creed scored on a double steal.

Morrow would push that lead to 2-0 in the top of the third with an RBI single.

NWOSU would pick up a run in the bottom of the third before both teams would go scoreless for the next three innings.

A Burroughs RBI triple would get the offense moving again, taking a 3-1 lead in the seventh inning.

A Creed RBI single in the eighth would push that to 4-1 before Thorp added an RBI single in the ninth followed by an RBI bases0loaded walk drawn by Cromer to take a 6-1 lead midway through the ninth.

The Rangers would pick up a pair of runs in the ninth, but Langford would come on to preserve the 6-3 Storm win.

Reid Rice led the offense in the nightcap with three hits, while Creed and Burroughs added two hits apiece.

Joseph Ramirez each turned in a hit.

Miles would drive in a pair of runs, while Creed, Bonstrom, Burroughs, Morrow, and French each drove in one.

Dylan Turner picked up the win after tossing four innings and allowing four runs on six hits with two strikeouts.

Cameron Hauch would follow with the save after going 3.0 innings and allowing a run on four hits with one strikeout.

SE exploded for five runs in the top of the first, with Bostrom singling in a run followed by RBI doubles from Burroughs and Miles. French would follow with an RBI single and Creed would draw a bases-loaded walk to push the lead to 5-0.

Morrow would drive in Bonstorm in the fourth and extend the edge to 6-0.

The Rangers then answered with four runs in the fifth to close the gap to 6-4.

A Miles sac fly would add an insurance run to make the score 7-4 in the sixth, and NWOSU would answer with a run in the seventh to make the final 7-5.
