ADA, Okla. – Southeastern broke open the series finale with a four-run seventh inning to pull away for a 7-2 win over East Central on Saturday afternoon in Ada, Okla.

The win brings the regular-season to an end with a 27-23 record overall and a 17-16 mark in Great American Conference play.

SE clinched a postseason berth in the conference tournament with its wins on Friday, and with its Saturday win it left the door open to reach the No. 7 seed depending on what happens in the series finale of the Harding at Arkansas Tech series which ends on Sunday.

Damon Burroughs,
Joseph Ramirez, and
Dylan Herd each collected three hits, while
Sam Creed,
Reid Rice, and
Matt Miles added one each.
Â
Burroughs would drive in a pair of runs in the game, with Creed, Rice,
Seth Morrow, and Herd each driving in a run.
Â
Connor Priest got the start and tossed a pair of scoreless innings, allowing a hit and striking out three.
Â
Michael Barta would follow in relief and collect the win after allowing two runs on six hits with a strikeout over 4.2 innings of work.

Coby Langford would collect the save with 2.1 innings, allowing a hit and no runs.

The Storm broke a scoreless tie in the top of the fourth when Creed scored as Morrow reached on an error to take a 1-0 lead.

A Rice RBI double would push the lead to 2-0 in the top of the sixth before ECU would get on the board in the bottom half of the sixth with an RBI single.

With two outs in the top of the seventh Ramirez would single and Herd would walk before Creed connected on an RBI single to push the lead to 3-1.

Two batters later Burroughs would drive in two runs with a single to right field which was followed by an error that allowed
Cory Bonstrom to come around and score to take a 6-1 lead midway through the seventh.

EU would pick up a run in the bottom of the seventh, but a Herd RBI single to score
Jake Miller would push the lead to 7-2 which would hold up as the final.
