Storm Men Open Semester with HU, ATU Road Swing

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern sets out to shake off the holiday break rust and pick up where it left off in the fall semester as it makes its first Arkansas road trip of the season, first taking on Harding at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 4 in Searcy, Ark., followed by a 3 p.m. matchup with Arkansas Tech on Jan. 6, in Russellville, Ark.
 
The Savage Storm enter the weekend road swing with a 7-5 record on the season and are 3-1 out of the gate in Great American Conference play, including closing out the first semester schedule with back-to-back wins.
 
SE is putting up a league-best 88.0 ppg on the year through 12 games and averaging 10 points per game more than the second highest scoring team in the GAC.
 
The offense features a foursome of double-digit scorers led by Kody Clouet who is putting up 19.8 ppg on 56.2 percent shooting overall and a 53.0 percent effort from beyond the arc where he's hitting 35-of-66 three-point buckets.
 
Brennen Burns is next up with 14.4 points per game while shooting 56.8 percent overall.
 
Jett Sternberger is turning in 13.3 ppg and Kyle Leslie is adding 11.8 per game, with both players hitting 40-plus percent and 33 percent or better from long range.
 
Burns ranks second in the league in assists with 5.1 per game while the Storm offense is piling up 15.0 per game combined.
 
Clouet also leads the team on the boards with 5.3 rebounds per game, while Sternberger is next in line with 4.0.
 
The Bisons enter Thursday's matchup with a 50-5 record overall and a 2-2 mark in GAC play but have lost two-straight to league opponents.
 
Rylie Marshall leads the team with 14.5 ppg on the year while Sam Smith is hauling in 7.7 rebounds per outing.
 
The Wonder Boys are 8-2 on the season and 4-0 in GAC play coming into the weekend.
 
Taelon Peter leads the way for ATU with 19.6 ppg while Josh Mitchell is pulling down a team-best 6.8 rebounds per contest.
