Women's Hoops Returns to Action at HU, ATU

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern is set to enter the new year aiming to shake off the slow start to Great American Conference play when it makes its first swing into Arkansas for a pair of contests, first taking on Harding at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 4 in Searcy, Ark., followed by a 1 p.m. matchup with Arkansas Tech on Jan. 6, in Russellville, Ark.
 
The Savage Storm enter the weekend road trip with a 4-6 record on the season but have opened conference play with an 0-4 record.
 
The SE offense is led by Caitlin Kobiske who comes into the trip averaging 15.3 ppg, shooting 44.9 percent form the floor overall and hitting 87.1 percent from the free throw line on a team-high 62 attempts.
 
Ashton Hackler and Lauren Beason are each adding 8.9 ppg, with Beason hitting an off the charts 72.2 percent from beyond the arc.
 
Holli Lindley checks in with 7.9 per game while Grace Alverson is adding 7.2 per contest.
 
Lindley leads the way on the abords with 7.3 rebounds per outing, while Kobiske is next up with 6.5 rpg.
 
HU enters Thursday's contest with a 9-1 record on the season and a 4-0 mark in GAC play and is ranked No. 20 in the nation.
 
Sage Hawley leads the Bisons and averages a double-double with 19.4 ppg and 11.6 rebounds per game while also handing out a team-best 2.8 assists per contest.
 
ATU comes into the weekend with a 5-3 record on the year and a 2-2 mark in league play.
 
Pacious McDaniel paces the Golden Sun offense with 21.8 ppg, while Dana Thompson is hauling in a team-high 7.9 rebounds per outing.
