Storm Meet Bulldogs in Bloomer Saturday

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma State returns from the winter break for a showdown in Bloomer Sullivan Arena versus Southwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday, Jan. 4 at 3 p.m.

STORM WATCH
Southeastern finished the fall portion of its 2024-25 schedule 3-8 and sits 1-4 in conference standings after falling to Southern Nazarene 87-81 most recently. The Savage Storm will be looking to get back in the win column, having dropped their last three GAC contests and tallied just one win in December.

SE has been led by a handful of freshmen this season, with the Storm's top scorer and assists leader all being first-year players. DJ Dill has been the team's spark off the bench, leading the side with 16.1 points per game, and has reached double-figure points in his last three games, including 18 against SNU. Daniel Halldorsson pulls the strings on offense with a team and conference-high 87 assists for 7.9 per game. Additionally, the freshman is one of five players averaging double-digit points per game with 11.2.

Santiago Camacho Gomez returned to the lineup for the Storm versus SNU after missing the last seven games due to injury. The Guadalajara, Mexico native did not miss a beat, chipping in a career-high 15 points and adding five assists and two steals to his totals. In four games, Gomez is seeing 10.5 points per contest and is second in assists with 2.5 a game.

Robert Briley recorded his fourth double-figure rebound game versus the Crimson Storm with 10 and moved into the Top 3 in the GAC with 8.3 per game. Briley helps lead the second-best team at the glass in the conference, as Southeastern averages 38.4 boards per game and holds a +2.5-rebound margin. In addition, the Storm remains one of the top-scoring teams, averaging 82.6 points per game.

Southeastern and Southwestern Oklahoma State head into the 58th meeting on Saturday, with the Storm leading the series 31-26. Last season, SE split the season series with an 84-52 home win and a 75-74 road loss. The blue and gold have been excellent at home versus SWOSU, having won the last ten games inside the Bloomer Sullivan Arena, and have not lost at home since 2016.

PREVIEWING SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE

The Bulldog's three conference wins have all come at home against Harding, Arkansas Tech and East Central.
