TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Southeastern rallied late to send the game to extra innings, but was unable to complete the victory in a 10-9 loss on the road to Northeastern State in 11 innings on Tuesday afternoon in Tahlequah, Okla.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 6-2 on the season heading into the Great American Conference opener Feb. 16-17 in a three-game series versus No. 17 Southern Arkansas.

Damon Burroughs logged a team-high three hits and scored two runs, while
Nick Hill and
Dylan Herd each picked up a pair of hits.
Â
Hill would add four RBI, while Heard drove on one on his solo homer and scored three runs.
Â
Yanluis Ortiz,
Cam Wheeler and
Matt Miles each collected hits, with Miles homering.
Â
Cory Bonstrom would also drive in a run and score twice without the benefit of a hit.
Â
Jackson Sioson got the start and took a no decision after allowing two runs on two hits with one strikeout in two innings pitched.
Â
Michael Minaya would follow with one-third of an inning, facing four batters and allowing three runs on two hits.

Brett Tanksley followed with 1.2 innings and allowed five hits and one run before handing off to
Charlie Deeds who tossed the next two innings and allowed a hit while striking out two.

Jared Barta followed with a1.1 innings, allowing one hit, with
Coby Langford tossing the next two-thirds while facing one batter.

Brody Logsdon would come on in the ninth but was tagged for two runs on three hits.

Hayden Alexander would finish the game and take the loss after allowing two runs on two hits despite four strikeouts in 1.2 innings of work.

NSU would break through first in the bottom of the first inning with a pair of RBI hits to take a 2-0 lead.

The Storm would respond in the top of the third inning with Herd coming home when Bonstrom reached on an error and tying the game at 2-2 a batter later when Hill drove in Bonstrom.

The tie was short lived as the Riverhawks would drop three runs in bottom of the third to stake a 5-2 lead.

They would tack on another run in the fourth inning to push the advantage to 6-2, but Southeastern would find an answer with a two-run double by Hill in the top of the fifth, closing the deficit to 6-4.

The Storm would finally strike again in the seventh, first with Herd scoring on an error followed a batter later by Burroughs coming home on a wild pitch to tie the game at 6-6.

Hill would bring home Bonstrom run on a sac fly one batter after that to take the first lead of the day at 7-6.

Herd would lead off the ninth inning with a solo homer to extend the Storm edge to 8-6.

NSU would connect on a two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game at 8-8 and send it to extra innings.

A pinch-hit homer from Miles would lead off the 11
th inning and give the Storm a 9-8 lead, but the Riverhawks would load the bases and end the contest with a two-run single to make the final 10-9.
