MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Southeastern collected 21 hits over two games, but were unable to come away with a win, falling at No. 17 Southern Arkansas 11-9 in game one before finishing the weekend with a 3-2 loss in the series finale in Magnolia, Ark.

The losses drops the Savage Storm to 6-5 overall on the year and 0-3 to open Great American Conference play.

In game one,
Damon Burroughs posted three this and drove in four runs, while
Brady Evans,
Nick Hill,
Antonio Crews, and
Cameron Cromer each had a pair of hits.

Cam Wheeler and
Dylan Herd each collected a hit.
Â
Evans, Hill,
Reid Rice, Wheeler, and Herd would each drive in a run.
Â
Dylan Turner would get the start on the mound and tossed 4.0 innings, allowing six runs on eight hits with three strikeouts.

Charlie Deeds would follow with two innings of work, allowing four runs on three hits in taking the loss.
Â
Coby Langford tossed two-thirds of an inning, allowing a run without giving up a hit.

Jared Barta would finish the game with 1.1 innings, allowing one hit.

SAU would take a lead with two runs in the bottom of the first.

The Storm would answer in the third with Evans and Hill driving in a run each to tie the game before Rice brought home the go-ahead run on a fielder's choice.

Cam Wheeler would follow with an RBI double to extend the SE lead to 4-2.

The Muleriders would pick up two runs in the bottom of the third to tie the game at 4-4.

Southeastern would take the lead again in the top of the fourth on an RBI double from Herd, pushing the lead to 6-4 on a Burroughs RBI single.

SAU would knot the game at 6-6 on a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth.

Burroughs would connect on a two-run double in the seventh to retake the lead again at 9-7, but the lead would not last long as the Muleriders responded with four runs in the bottom of the seventh to make the score 11-9 which would hold as the final.

In the finale, Rice,
Yanluis Ortiz, and Herd each posted two hits, while Crews and Hill had one each.

Crews and Hill each drove in a run.

Jackson Sioson got the start and took the loss after allowing three runs, two earned, on six hits in five innings pitched with six strikeouts.

Brody Logsdon would throw the final inning and allow a hit and no runs.

SAU would take a 2-0 lead in the first, but the Storm had an answer in the second with a Herd RBI single and a Crews RBI single to tie the game at 2-2.

The Muleriders would tack on a run in the bottom of the second and that would end scoring for both teams as SE fell 3-2.
