Southeastern Cruises to 93-68 Win over HSU

DURANT, Okla. – Kyle Leslie drained five threes and led all scorers with 21 points as he led Southeastern to a 93-68 win over Henderson State on Saturday afternoon in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
 
The win is the team's 11th in-a-row and lifts the Savage Storm to 21-7 overall on the season and 17-3 in Great American Conference play.
 
Leslie would finish the contest 7-for-11 overall from the field and 5-of-8 from beyond the arc while he would also pull down a team-best eight rebounds.
 
Brennen Burns was next up with 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field while handing out a game-best eight assists and grabbing four boards.
 
Kody Clouet followed with 15 points while shooting 50.0 percent overall, with Landon Condiff chipping in 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting from three-point range.
 
Elijah Hughey would add nine points off the bench, with Robert Briley adding eight points and pulling down seven rebounds.
 
SE would open strong, pushing out to a double-digit lead within the first 5:06, going up 16-5 on a Clouet three in transition.
 
HSU would close the gap to six points over the next two minutes, but the Storm would push its lead back to double-figures.
 
The Reddies would close the Storm lead to 34-25 with 5:54 to play in the half, but the Storm would respond by reeling off a 16-4 run capped by a Lesie three that pushed the lead past 20 points before ultimately taking a 55-33 lead at the halftime break.
 
SE would open the second half with a three to extend the lead to 25 points and would maintain a large advantage, pushing the lead to 30 points on a Clouet three with 9:22 to play, taking an 84-54 lead.
 
A Clouet bucket with 5:03 to play would give the Storm its largest lead of the contest at 33 points with a 93-60 advantage before settling on a 93-68 victory.
