Kobiske Milestone Highlights SE Road Loss

SHAWNEE, Okla. – Caitlin Kobiske put up a game-high 25 points and connected on her 1,000th career point, but it was not enough to lift Southeastern in a 70-60 road loss to Oklahoma Baptist on Thursday night in Shawnee, Okla.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 10-17 overall on the season and 6-15 in Great American Conference play and officially eliminates SE from postseason contention.

Kobiske, who reaches the 1,000-point plateau in her first three seasons, hit 9-of-14 from the field, including a pair of threes on her way to 25 points, bringing her career total to 1,009 points.

Grace Alverson joined her in double-digits with a trio of three off the bench to finish with 11.

Ashton Hackler added nine points with Bri Wietelman chipped in six.

Hackler led the Storm on boards with six rebounds, while Kobiske pulled down five boards, with Kenzli Warden, Aimee Alverson, and Wietelman each adding four.

OBU would take the lead early after the teams traded buckets, pushing the advantage to 17-10 before SE closed the gap to 18-13 at the first quarter break.

The Bison would push their lead to as many as nine points in the second quarter, but the Storm would answer as a Hackler bucket would trigger an 18-5 run by SE to take a 36-32 lead at the halftime break.

SE would maintain its advantage early in the third quarter before the team would find themselves in a tie at 40-40.

The Bisons would outscore the Storm 17-7 over the final seven minutes of the frame to take a 57-46 lead at the end of three.

Southeastern would twice close the gap to eight points in the fourth quarter, but that was as close as they were able to cut the deficit any further, falling 70-60.
