DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern allowed 10 unanswered runs over the final five innings and found itself on the wrong end of an 11-1 final score in the series opener versus Northwestern Oklahoma State on Friday afternoon at Mike Metheny Field.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 9-22 overall on the season and 2-17 in Great American Conference play with the final two games of the series slated for Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.

Austin Thorp,
Jake Miller, and
Brady Evans each collected two hits to provide the offense for SE.

Thorp would tack on an RBI, with Miller and Evans each doubling.

Cameron Hauch got the start and took the loss after allowing seven runs, six of them earned, on nine hits with six strikeouts over seven innings of work.

Coby Langford was tagged for a run on two hits in one inning pitched, while
Parker Pecina tossed the final inning and allowed three runs, two earned, on three hits.

NWOSU would connect on a solo homer in the second inning to take an early lead, but a Thorp RBI single would score Evans to knot the game at 1-1 after three innings.

It remained tied until the top of the fifth when the Rangers would put up three runs to take the lead, followed by a run in the sixth, two in the seventh, one in the eighth, and finally three in the top of the ninth to take an 11-1 lead which would hold up as the final score.
