DURANT, Okla. – After closing out the season by wrapping up a share of the regular season Great American Conference Championship, Southeastern will now take its No. 1 seed and look add to those accolades, beginning March 7 with a 5:45 p.m. quarterfinal matchup with Southern Arkansas at FireLake Arena in Shawnee, Okla.
 
The Savage Storm closed out the regular season with a 22-8 record and locked up a GAC Regular Season title for the second time in three years with a conference mark of 18-4.
 
SE and SAU squared off twice this season with the Storm winning both, the first by an 88-82 difference in Bloomer Sullivan Arena and the second by a 73-71 margin in Magnolia, Ark.
 
Southeastern is 7-3 in its last 10 outings against the Muleriders, and Thursday will be the second postseason meeting between the teams, with the Storm taking an 83-69 win in the quarterfinals in 2020.
 
Kody Clouet paces the SE offense with 17.8 ppg while shooting 50.0 percent from the field overall and 42.4 percent from beyond the arc.
 
Brennen Burns is next in line with 16.4 ppg while shooting 56.8 percent overall and is the league's top distributer with 6.9 assists per contest.
 
Jett Sternberger checks in with 13.1 ppg while 
Kyle Leslie is chipping in 12.1 per outing.
 
Robert Briley just misses double-digits on offense with 8.9 ppg but is the team's leading rebounder at 5.3 rebounds per outing.
 
SAU comes into the tournament with an 11-17 record overall on the season and a 9-13 mark in league play, earning them the eight-seed.
 
Carel Ray leads the Mulerider on offense with 19.3 ppg as well as on the glass with 8.0 rebounds per contest.
 
Nevi Tell leads the team in assists with 3.0 per game.
 
Thursday night's winner will face the winner between No. 4 seed Southern Nazarene and No. 5 seed Arkansas-Monticello in the semifinals on March 9 at noon. A win in that round would earn a trip to the finals which are scheduled for 1 p.m. on March 10.
