CLAREMORE, Okla. – Southeastern kept pace early, but saw Rogers State score six of the last seven runs in the contest to pull away, handing the Savage Storm a 12-4 loss on Tuesday afternoon in Claremore, Okla.

The loss drops SE to 10-24 on the season heading back into Great American Conference play with a weekend series against Southern Nazarene.

Brady Evans put together a team-best three hit performance with a home run and an RBI.

Coby Grimsley, and Corey Bonstrom each added a hit.

Thorp, Miller, and Miles each would add an RBI as well.

Brett Tanksley got the start on the mound and took the loss after throwing 3.2 innings and allowing four runs, two of them earned, on five hits with one strikeout.

Colby Kroutil tossed 1.1 innings in relief and was tagged for two runs on four hits.

Bristol Carson followed with an inning of work and allowed a run on two hits with one strikeout before handing over to
Parker Pecina who tossed two-thirds of an inning and was dinged for three runs on two hits with a strikeout.

Coby Langford would finish that inning and record one out, allowing a run on a hit before
Michael Minaya came on to finish the game, tossing an inning and allowing one unearned run on two hits.

RSU would get on the board first in the bottom of the first inning, taking advantage of a Storm error to put the first run on the board and pushing its lead to 2-0 when a run scored on a double play later in the inning.

SE would mount a response in the top of the fourth inning, with Miller driving in Thorp with an RBI single followed by a Miles RBI single that scored Miller to tie the game at 2-2.

The HIllcats would put up a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth, first on a sac fly and then on a bases-loaded walk to make the score 4-2.

Evans would open the fifth with a leadoff home run, closing the gap to 4-3 midway through the fifth, but
RSU would tack on a pair of RBI doubles in the bottom half to push its lead to 6-3.

Rogers State would push home a run in the bottom of the sixth, but a Thorp sac fly in the seventh would close the gap back to 7-4.

The Hillcats would tack on a grand slam in the bottom of the seventh top push its lead to 11-4.

RSU would tack on one more run in the eighth, making the score 12-4 which would be the final score.
