DURANT, Okla. – Caitlin Kobiske dropped a game-high 31 points and Southeastern dominated the third quarter on its way to a 77-58 victory over Arkansas Tech on Saturday afternoon in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 11-5 overall on the year and 8-2 in Great American Conference play while extending its winning streak to five games.

The Storm would take its largest lead of the game to that point on a Lindley three at the 4:18 mark to take a 15-8 advantage before ATU closed the gap to 20-16 by the end of the first quarter.

The Golden Suns would tie the game early in the second and for the remainder of the second quarter, the teams would trade the lead with neither team going up by more than three.

A Wietelman three would give the Storm a lead with under a minute to play, but ATU would connect on a layup with 27 seconds to play, taking a 34-33 lead at the half.

Kobiske got the Storm off to a fast start in the third quarter, scoring the first seven points of the frame as part of a 15-3 run to open the second half that was capped by an Abbie Barr bucket, taking a 48-37 lead with 4:15 to go in the quarter.

Southeastern would finish the third period shooting 53.8 percent overall and hitting 3-of-7 threes while adding a 14-of-14 performance at the free throw line to outscore the Suns 24-7 for the quarter, turning a one-point halftime deficit into 57-41 lead heading to the fourth.

ATU would close the gap to 13 points early in the fourth, but that was as close as it would get as the Storm would push its lead to 21 points on a Connie Hughes bucket with 3:07 to play and take its largest lead of the contest on a Brenna Howard layup that made the score 77-55 with 30 seconds to play before settling on the 77-58 final tally.
