Southeastern Preps for the SNU Conference Challenge on November 28-29

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern wraps up its non-conference slate at the SNU Conference Challenge on November 28-29 against Rogers State and Cameron.
 
SE opens play on Friday, Nov. 28, at 5:30 p.m. versus Rogers State before taking on Cameron Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in the Sawyer Center.
 
SERIES NOTES
  • Friday's game between the Savage Storm and Hillcats of Rogers State will be the fourth all-time meeting and the first since 2010. Rogers State leads the series 2-1, with two of the most recent wins.
  • Southeastern heads into Saturday holding a five-game advantage in the series against Cameron, 18-13. In a series dating back to 1970, the two sides have not faced each other since 2011, when the Storm was a member of the LSC. 
 
STORM REPORT
SE (1-3, 0-0 GAC) grabbed its first win of the season, most recently, picking up a road win at Texas A&M-Kingsville 78-69. The blue and gold dominated the opening 20 minutes to carry a 40-28 lead into halftime, while TAMKU won the second half 41-38. SE shot 47.5 percent from the field and outrebounded the Javelinas with 46 rebounds – both season-highs as a team.
 
In his first start of the season, Deondre Dunn led the blue and gold in the win with 25 points on 75.0 percent shooting from the field and was 6-of-9 from beyond the arc. Dunn's 25 points are tied for the third-most points scored in a game this season across the GAC, and his six triples are the second-most recorded. In four appearances, the Watonga, Okla. native is averaging 8.8 points per game and is converting 52.2 percent from the field, and has eight triples on 50.0 percent shooting.
 
Freshman Augusto Toledo posted his second double-digit point game in the blue and gold with 14 on 4-8 shooting from the three-point line against TAMKU. The Sao Paulo, Brazil native is averaging 7.5 points per game in 52 minutes of action and is tied for a team-high eight three-pointers with Dunn and is shooting 40.0 percent from beyond the arc. The duo's efforts see SE lead the conference with 40 triples for 10.0 a contest, and the team ranks sixth with a 32.0 shooting mark.
 
Ethan Wilkerson continues to lead the Storm at the glass after pacing the side with a season-best 10 rebounds in the win at Texas A&M- Kingsville. Wilkerson is tied for seventh in the GAC with 6.8 rebounds per game and has also pulled down the seventh most offensive boards (9). The Storm ranks eighth in the conference with 35.8 rebounds per game, but holds a -5.0 rebound margin with opponents seeing 40.8 boards per contest.
 
SCOUTING ROGERS STATE
Rogers State enters the conference challenge 3-1 off the back of its most recent win over Southern Arkansas, 96-88. The Hillcats have faced three GAC teams to start the season, with a 64-54 defeat to Ouachita Baptist and an 88-61 win over Harding. Jabryn Anderson led the Hillcats against SAU with 20 points and is leading the team this year with 14.3 points per game. Anderson is one of five players averaging double-figure points and is second on the team in rebounds with 5.7 per game.
 
SCOUTING CAMERON
Cameron is 1-3 with a game in hand before they head to the challenge, where they will face Southern Nazarene and Southeastern. The Aggies' lone win was a 90-83 victory over Western Colorado in the third game of the season. Cameron is led by four players who are averaging double-figure points, with Jordan Mitchell leading the way with 19.0 points per game. Mitchell tallied 11 points in the Aggies' most recent game against Adams State, while Michael Jones, who ranks second on the team in scoring (17.3 ppg), had 20 points.
