Storm Welcomes SWOSU to Bloomer Thursday Night

Durant, Okla. – Southeastern closes out 2025 for the final time at home on Thursday, Dec. 18, at 7:30 p.m. when Southwestern Oklahoma State comes to town.
 
SERIES NOTES
  • Southwestern did the double over Southeastern last season, defeating the Storm 74-68 in Durant and 85-75 in Weatherford. SE has lost three of its previous four meetings with the Bulldogs, but holds a 7-3 mark in the last ten contests.
  • The Storm leads the all-time series 31-28 going into the 60th meeting between the two sides. Southeastern has been almost unbeatable in the last ten games at Bloomer Sullivan Arena, with nine wins over the Bulldogs during those trips.
 
STORM REPORT
Southeastern (3-7, 2-2 GAC) split last week's round of GAC action, picking up a home win over Northwestern Oklahoma State 99-91 in overtime before falling 98-82 to No. 23 Oklahoma Baptist in Shawnee.
 
Ethan Wilkerson saw his best scoring stretch since joining in 2024-25, as he helped lead the GAC last week with 26.0 points per game. Wilkerson became the first player since 2020-21 to score 30 points, posting a career-high 31 in the overtime win over Northwestern, and followed with 21 more points against Oklahoma Baptist. The big week for the Madill, Okla. native sees him lead the team in scoring with 12.3 points per game on 51.5 percent shooting from the field.
 
Leading the three-point shooting efforts is Ethan Scott, who continues to be one of the league's top sharpshooters. Scott tallied seven triples against NWOSU and OKBU, including four against the Bison, bringing him to 26 on the year. The Oklahoma City, Okla. native is second in the GAC in three-point field goals made and ranks fifth with a 46.4 percent mark from beyond the arc. Southeastern continues to pace the conference with 9.7 triples per game on 34.5 percent shooting at the three-point line.
 
SE has posted back-to-back games shooting 50.0 percent or better from the floor, which sees them fourth in the GAC in field goal percentage at 47.5 percent. Southeastern is one of three teams to rank inside the top five in both field goal percentage and three-point shooting, helping them to 76.0 points per game. The struggles for the Storm have come at the glass, as they sit tenth in the league with 33.5 rebounds per game and hold a -2.6 rebound margin.
 
SCOUTING SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE
Southwestern remains one of three teams without a win in GAC play after back-to-back defeats to Oklahoma Baptist and Southern Nazarene. The Bulldogs enter the week 0-4 in the league standings and share a similar 3-7 record with Southeastern. SWOSU's struggles so far have come on the road, with six defeats in six road trips, including an 83-55 loss at SNU most recently.
 
The Bulldogs' scoring is led by Kayden Carter and Ty Frierson, who are averaging 11.6 and 11.3 points per game, respectively. Both Carter and Frierson help facilitate the offense with 24 assists each, while Kray Rogers paces the side with 26 assists. SWOSU is converting at a 42.3 percent clip from the field and averaging 68.6 points per game while pulling down 35.9 rebounds per contest.
