Akiera Hawk turned in a team-high 21 points, but a tough afternoon shooting from long range limited Southeastern in an 82-74 loss to Ouachita Baptist on Saturday afternoon in Arkadelphia, Ark.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 3-5 to start the season overall and 0-2 to start Great American Conference play with its next matchup coming Dec. 10 at 5:30 p.m. when it hosts Northwestern Oklahoma State at Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

Hawk finished the game with 21 points on 10-of-18 shooting to lead the SE offense while adding seven rebounds and dishing out a pair of assists and grabbing two steals.

Warden turned in a double-double with 15 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.

Tori Kilburn also finished with 15 points despite playing in foul trouble much of the contest, going 4-of-9 form the field and 5-of-5 at the charity stripe while chipping in five rebounds.

Halli Hyatt drained a pair of threes and finished with eight points, while Barr turned in eight as well.

Hyatt was the only SE player to hit multiple threes as the Storm finished with four made as a team for the night, shooting 13.8 percent for the game from beyond the arc.

Hawk put up the first six points of the game for the Storm as the teams traded buckets and after a jumper and a three from Barr the Storm held an 11-9 lead midway through the first quarter.

However, OBU turned in a 9-0 run and scored 17 of the final 23 points in the quarter, leaving SE trailing 26-17 at the first quarter break.

The deficit grew to 12 points early itn he second quarter, but a three-point-play from Barr and a pair of Hyatt threes powered a 12-3 run to cut the gap to one possession with 4:10 to play in the half.

The Tigers extended their lead back to seven points, but four-straight
Breanna Lindert free throws followed by six-straight Hawk points narrowed the gap to one point before a pair of free throws pushed OBU to a 42-39 lead at the half.

SE saw the gap widen early in the third quarter to 11 points, but the Storm scored 10 of the next 15 points to narrow the score to 57-51 with 1:32 to play in the third, but OBU scored the final four points to make the score 61-51 heading to the fourth quarter.

The Tigers scored first in the final frame, but the Storm answered with a 15-5 run capped by a Warden free throw to close the gap to 70-66 with 2:46 to play.

OBU ended the run and pushed its lead back out to nine points twice over the next 1:12, as the teams began trading free throws with the Storm chipping away at the deficit, closing to a six-point gap on a pair of Kilburn free throws with 30 seconds to play.

That was as close as it would get though as the Tigers hit four free throws down the stretch and a Kilburn bucket before the buzzer sett he final score at 82-74.
