SE to Face NWOSU at Home and Oklahoma Baptist on the Road

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern gets set to square off with Northwestern Oklahoma State on Wednesday at home and No. 23 Oklahoma Baptist on the road Saturday. Tip-off between the Savage Storm and Rangers is set for 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 10, while SE and the Bison are slated for a 7:30 p.m. start on Saturday, Dec. 13.
 
STORM REPORT
Southeastern (2-6,1-1 GAC) split its first round of GAC play, picking up a road win over Henderson State, 74-70, but later fell to Ouachita Baptist, 69-52. Similar to last season, SE opened conference play against the Reddies and Tigers and split the two games in reverse order, with a victory over Ouachita and a defeat to Henderson.
 
Ethan Scott, who missed the first two games with an injury, has quickly found his footing in his first season with Storm. The Oklahoma Baptist transfer posted a season-high 19 points against Ouachita on 5-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc and has four double-digit point games this season. Scott leads the team with 19 triples on 48.7 percent shooting and ranks second in the GAC with 3.2 three-pointers per game.
 
With the efforts of Scott, Southeastern paces the league in three-point shooting, with 10.1 treys per game for a conference-best 82 three-pointers. The Storm are shooting 33.7 percent from beyond the arc with four players with ten or more three-pointers on the year. Deondre Dunn has knocked down 16 on 45.7 percent shooting, while Augusto Toledo and Santiago Camacho Gomez have recorded 15 and 11 triples, respectively.
 
The Storm have four players averaging ten or more per game, led by Scott with 11.3. Gomez is seeing 10.8 points per game while shooting 43.2 percent from the field, and Dunn is averaging 10.6 on 50.9 percent shooting from the floor. Rounding out the scoring is Chandler Dickinson with 10.0 points per game after scoring 11 against Ouachita Baptist. As a team, Southeastern is scoring 72.4 points per game, giving them the eighth-highest scoring offense in the GAC.

SCOUTING NORTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE
Northwestern Oklahoma State (3-5, 0-2 GAC) will be looking for its first conference win on Wednesday, following defeats to Arkansas Tech and Harding on the road. The Rangers have struggled on the road to start the season, with zero wins in three road trips, and have been outscored 242-to-197 away from the Percefull Fieldhouse.
 
Max Alexander makes the Rangers offense tick, with a conference-high 21.0 points per game, and leads the side with 25 assists. Alexander has six 20-point games in eight appearances, including a 21-point outing in the defeat to Harding. The redshirt-junior guard is joined by teammate Robbie Armbrester in double-figure points with 15.0 points per game on 73.5 percent shooting from the field, and leads the team with 6.7 rebounds per contest.
 
SCOUTING NO. 23 OKLAHOMA BAPTIST
Oklahoma Baptist suffered its first defeat of the season in its most recent outing, falling to Southern Arkansas on the road 80-78. Ahead of their trip to Magnolia, the Bison bested Arkansas-Monticello 71-57 to pick up their first league win and sit 1-1 in the GAC and 7-1 overall. The loss to the Muleriders dropped Oklahoma Baptist in the NABC Coaches Poll from No. 15 to No. 23.
 
The Bison offense features the second-highest scorer in the GAC, with Terry Coner Jr. leading the team with 19.1 points per game. The junior from Birmingham, Ala., combined for 37 points against UAM and SAU and has reached double-figure points in every game this season. Erik Madrid has been the Bison's most efficient shot taker, converting 71.4 percent from the field for 10.6 points per game and ranks second at the glass with 5.6 rebounds.
