ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Despite struggling from long distance, Southeastern rallied to tie the game late but saw its comeback fall short in a 64-62 road loss at Henderson State on Saturday afternoon in Arkadelphia, Ark.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 13-7 overall on the season and 10-4 in Great American Conference play.

Caitlin Kobiske turned in 19 points to lead all scorers, while also pulling down a team-high seven rebounds.

Kenzli Warden was next up with 17 points, while
Ashton Hackler turned in 12 points off the bench.

Stevie Stinchcomb handed out a team-high three assists, while Warden added six rebounds.

Southeastern shot 38.2 percent overall for the game, bolstered by 50.0 percent efforts in the second and fourth quarters.

The Storm found things tough from beyond the arc, hitting 3-of-21 from three-point range for the contest.

HSU would score the game's first four points and jump out to a 6-2 lead before a Barr three pointer would close the gap to 6-5.

The Reddies would put together a 10-2 run over the next five minutes before a Hackler layup would cap scoring in the first quarter with the Storm trailing 16-9.

SE would open the second quarter with six-straight points, but HSU would answer with an 8-0 run to take a 24-15 lead four minutes into the frame.

The Storm would answer with a 10-3 run all on the back of Kobiske, cutting the deficit to 27-25, with the teams then trading buckets once more before the half with Southeastern trailing 29-27 at the break.

SE would yoyo through the third quarter, with HSU pushing its lead out to seven points early before The Storm would reel it in to one possession.

The Storm deficit would fluctuate between three and eight points over the course of the third quarter, with the Reddies final push putting Southeastern in a 48-41 hole heading to the furth quarter.

SE would chip away in the final quarter, using an 11-5 run over the first four minutes to cut the gap down to 53-52.

The teams would trade buckets before a Lindley jumper with 3:59 to play would tie the ga,e at 56-56.

A 6-1 Reddie run would put them in front 62-57, but the Storm would answer with a pair of Warden free throws and a Stinchcomb three to again knot the game at 62-62.

However, HSU would get the last word, sinking a pair of free throws with 1.5 seconds to play to make the final 64-62.
