DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern opened its Monday twinbill versus Ouachita Baptist in Hot Springs, Ark., by dropping a narrow 1-0 pitcher's duel before closing out the weekend with a 9-2 loss in the series finale.

The losses drop the Savage Storm to 2-8 overall on the season and 1-2 in Great American Conference play.

In Monday's opener,
Michael White turned in the longest outing of any Storm starting pitcher this season, going 7.1 innings and allowing a run on two hits with nine strikeouts but was saddled with the loss.

Austin Hillebrandt closed the contest with two-thirds of an inning, striking out one.
Â
Payton Poole,
Wesley Mitchell, and
Chase Keeton each logged a hit, but no one was able to drive in a run.

SE advanced a runner to third base in the second inning and again in the fourth but left him stranded there each time.

The Tigers picked up the game's one run in the bottom of the eighth by stealing third and home to take a 1-0 lead which would hold up as the final score.

In the finale,
Ryan Kirk, Poole,
Jake Miller, and
Colton Sagely each logged two hits, with Kirk driving in a pair of runs.

Tristan Mills started for the Storm and took the loss after allowing three runs, two earned, on two hits in two-thirds of an inning.

He would hand the ball to
Carson Abbott who scattered three runs and four hits over 1.2 innings of work.

Tanner Carter followed by recording five outs on six batters faced before handing to
Ryan Rauss who was tagged for three runs on two hits in an inning.

Hillebrandt tossed the final inning, allowing one hit and no runs.

The Tigers jumped in front with three runs in the bottom of the first inning in the series finale, but Southeastern answered as

Jake Miller and Keeton to close the gap to 3-2 midway through the second inning.

OBU picked up two more runs in the bottom of the second inning, pushing its lead to 5-2.

The Tigers tacked on another run in the third and three more in the sixth to extend their advantage to 9-2 which would stand as the final tally.
