DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern opened its series versus No. 17 Harding with a pitcher's duel but found itself on the wrong end of the final score as it dropped the opener 3-0 on Friday afternoon at Mike Metheny Field.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 10-17 overall and 8-8 in Great American Conference play with the final two games of the series set for a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.

Daniel Collins got the start but took the loss after allowing two runs on four hits over four innings.

Cody Pfeffer followed with four innings of work, allowing a run on two hits with a pair of strikeouts.

Gage Dollins,
Payton Poole, and
Austin Thorp each collected a hit for the Storm, and for the contest SE would leave five runners stranded.

HU threatened in the first inning with Collins getting out of a bases-loaded jam before retiring the next nine hitters from the second through the fourth innings as the game went into the fifth in a scoreless tie.

The Bisons led off the fifth with a solo homer and later added a two-out, RBI single to take a 2-0 lead.

Harding added a run in the eighth to set the final score at 3-0.
