ALVA, Okla. – Southeastern opened its road series at Northwestern Oklahoma State on the wrong end of a 3-1 final score in on Friday night in Alva, Okla.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 7-11 overall on the season and 6-4 in Great American Conference play with the final two games of the series set for a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.

Austin Thorp led SE with a pair of hits, while
Payton Poole,
Wesley Mitchell, and
Nick Mueller each added a hit.

Mueller supplied a home run while Mitchell doubled.

Daniel Collins got the start and took the loss despite allowing two runs on six hits with three strikeouts over five innings.

Cody Pfeffer followed with 2.2 innings of work, allowing four hits and a run with three K's.

Austin Hillebrandt recorded the final out for the Storm.

NWOSU took the lead in the bottom of the second on an RBI groundout and pushed its lead to 2-0 on an RBI double in the third.

Mueller cut the deficit in half with a pinch-hit, solo homer, closing the gap to 2-1.

The Rangers followed with a run in the bottom of the seventh, pushing the score to 3-1 which would end up as the final tally.
