BETHANY, Okla. –
Chase Keeton tied the single game school record with six total hits while
Ryan Kirk set a school record with four doubles in the game as Southeastern powered its way to a 20-13 win in midweek action over Southern Nazarene on Tuesday afternoon in Bethany, Okla.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 18-28 on the year heading into the regular season finale series versus East Central currently slated for April 25-26 in Ada, Okla.

SE finished the contest with 25 hits, putting up its most hits in a contest since collecting 26 hits versus SNU on March 5, 2022.
Â
The Storm finished with 12 extra base hits, six doubles and six homers, with nine players picking up hits, seven of those posting, multi-hit outings.
Â
Keeton matched the school record for hits in a single game, turning in six hits on the day in a 6-for-7 performance with three RBI and two runs scored.
Â
Kirk was next in line with a 4-for-5 effort with all four going for doubles while picking up two RBI and scoring four runs.

Carter Olson,
Payton Poole, and
Austin Thorp each added three hits, with
Brady Evans and
Wesley Mitchell adding two each.

Nick Mueller and
Alex Showalter each finished the game with one hit.
Â
Thorp homered twice, while Mitchell, Keeton, Mueller, and Poole homered once apiece.

Keeton and Olson each added a double to the four posted by Kirk.

Mueller and Thorp finished with four RBI each, while Mitchell and Keeton drove in three apiece.

Olson and Kirk finished with two RBI each, while Poole picked up one.

Brock Zimmer got the start and tossed an inning, allowing five runs, four earned, on five hits.

Luke Johnson threw the next inning and allowed two runs on four hits before handing to
Parker Pecina who gave up three runs, two earned, on two hits in 1.2 innings of work.

He gave way to Rya Rauss who tossed 1.1 innings and picked up the win after not allowing a run or a hit.

Austin Hillebrandt allowed a run on two hits in 1.1 innings, followed by
Carson Abbott who went 1.2 innings and allowed a hit with no runs.

Cody Pfeffer closed out the contest with an inning of work, allowing two runs on two hits.

Mitchell kicked off scoring on the day with a solo homer in the top of the first and SE pushed the lead to 2-0 when Thorp drew a bases-loaded walk.

SNU responded in the bottom half with five runs to take a 5-2 lead after one inning.
Â
The Savage Storm resumed scoring in the second inning, first on a Mitchell sac fly to plate Kirk before loading the bases and seeing Mueller connect on a grand slam to regain the lead at 7-5.

Thorp followed later in the inning with a two-run homer, with Kirk adding an RBI double, along with back-to-back RBI singles from Keeton and Olson to stretch the lead to 12-5 after putting up 10 runs in the inning.

The Crimson Storm tacked on two runs in the bottom of the second to close the gap to 12-7, but Poole led off the third with a solo homer to push that advantage back to 13-7.

SNU got a run back in the bottom of the third, but Olson followed in the top of the fourth with an RBI double to make the score 14-8.

The Crimson Storm recouped two runs in the bottom of the fourth, closing the SE lead to 14-10 before a Kirk RBI double put one back on the board and moved the lead to 15-10 midway through the fifth.

A Keeton double in the top of the sixth extended the lead to 16-10, but a leadoff homer by SNU in the bottom of the seventh closed the gap to 16-11.

Thorp connected on his second homer of the day in the top of the ninth, leading off the inning.

SE added a run on a Mitchell RBI groundout, followed by Kirk scoring on a wild pitch and Keeton smashing a homer to left field, stretching the lead to 20-11 midway through the ninth.

SNU tacked on a two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth to make the final score 20-13.
