CONROE, Texas – Southeastern picks up its first win of the season on a walk-off play to defeat Texas A&M- International 11-10 in a back-and-forth game.

The Savage Storm recorded 13 hits on the day, led by a 3-for-5 day at the plate from
Iliana Olivares, who recorded two RBIs and one run scored.
Rylie Swindall and
India McMurray each notched two hits, while McMurray tallied three runs scored and two runs batted in. McMurray was one of two players to hit a home run, as
Emily Simmons registered one for her only hit in the game.Â
Lindsey Dubberly picked up the win in the circle after
Alyson Malone went 2.2 innings in her first start of the season in the circle. In relief, E. Simmons worked 2.1 frames, while
Bailey Kite pitched 1.2 innings.

The blue and gold fell behind early to Texas A&M-International, as the Dustdevils plated four runs in the top of the second to lead 5-0. SE would pull a run back in the bottom half of the inning after
Lorryn Johnson lined a base hit into right field to score McMurray, who reached on error to leadoff the frame.

SE soon exploded for three runs in the bottom of the fourth to take its first lead of the game, 6-5. The Storm were quickly down to their final out with no one on base, but a single by Swindall sparked a five-hit inning. A single into right field by
Tally Rowland scored the first run before a double ripped off the bat of Olivares plated another score, 5-4. On the next at-bat, McMurray smashed a two-run home run to right field to gain the lead.

The Dustdevils replied in the next two innings, scoring one run in the fifth and three in the sixth to flip the lead back in their favor, 9-6. SE answered back with an E. Simmons three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game 9-all.

Texas A&M- International put up another score at the top of the seventh after chaining together a pair of hits to go up 10-9. The SE bats went to work in the bottom half of the inning, starting with a single from Edwards, who was brought home on the next at-bat by
Jazzy Rios, who knocked a double into left field, 10-10. Southeastern was soon down to its final out, but a costly mistake from the Dustdevil outfield allowed the pinch-runner
Keegan Rowland to score the winning run from second after missing playing a ball off the bat of McMurray.

Southeastern (1-2) concludes action at the DII First Pitch Invitational tomorrow with two games, beginning at 10 a.m. against Mississippi College before taking on No. 1 UT Tyler at 12:30 p.m.
